<p>As a first-generation West County native and alumnus of Contra Costa and Diablo Valley Community Colleges, I have spent a lifetime supporting students and advocating for <strong>equal access to an affordable, quality education.</strong></p><p>I am the <span style="color: var(--color-bg3-text-accent-secondary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-bg3-text-accent-secondary);"><strong style="color: var(--color-bg3-text-accent-secondary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-bg3-text-accent-secondary);">only</strong></span> candidate in this race who is a union member, statewide legislative advocate on issues directly facing community college students and their families, and a current West County elected official.</p>

Too many low-income students are being priced out of higher education.</span></p><p><span style="color: var(--color-text); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text);">As your Community College Trustee I will focus on the following priorities to ensure the opportunities I had are available to future generations:</span></p>
